Quilt Block
This nine-patch
block is made up of nine paper-pieced units. Paper-piecing patterns
have been provided in PDF format.

| - Cut five 4" squares. (A1,
B1, C1, D1, I1)
- Cut four
3" x 5" rectangles (E1, F1, G1, H1)

| - Cut eight 3-1/2" squares.
Cut each square once diagonally to make 16 triangles. (A2-3, B2-3,
C2-3, D2-3, E2-3, F2-3, G2-3, H2-3)

| - Cut six 3-1/2" squares.
Cut each square once diagonally to make 12 triangles. (A4-5, B4-5,
C4-5, D4-5, I2-5)
- Cut four
3" x 5"rectangles. (E4, F4, G4, H4)

Sewing
Instructions:
Step 1:
Print
out the paper-piecing foundations by clicking here. (This is a PDF
file and will require Adobe Acrobat Reader to open.) Trim around each
of the 9 units about 1/8" outside of the dotted line of the seam
allowance. Paper-piece each unit using a very short stitch length
setting on your sewing machine. When you've finished paper-piecing each
unit, trim away the excess fabric and paper by cutting along the dotted
line of the seam allowance. Carefully remove the paper from the back

Step 2: Arrange the sections as shown below and sew
into rows (Diagram 1). Sew the rows (Diagram 2) together to finish the
block (Diagram 3) .

Your block should measure 12-1/2" on all sides.
It will measure 12" finished size when it is sewn into a quilt.
